OPEN HOUSE ~ April 30th
Longmeadow Montessori Internationale (LMI) is committed to providing children 2 years 9 months to 6 years of age with hands-on learning experiences and opportunities that will create a love of life-long learning and character development.
LMI is dedicated to the child-centered Montessori philosophy which fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and cultural awareness while nurturing children’s spirits. Children are encouraged to be creative and follow their natural curiosity about the world around them. Our program is designed to foster confidence, independence, a strong sense of self, and the desire to learn. We establish clear-cut boundaries and encourage freedom and exploration within those boundaries. Our children know they are valued as individuals who will be allowed to learn and grow in their own time. Our environment is one of patience, kindness, and mutual respect. We want your child to walk out our door saying "I can do it myself."
At LMI, we also include non-traditional Montessori materials (music, art, character education and a foreign language) to our traditional Montessori curriculum of science, language, mathematics, practical life and sensorial education. We believe the youngest child is ready and eager to learn about Picasso, Beethoven and music from around the world. We know young students benefit from being introduced to a foreign language because this is the time in which the brain is able to absorb all languages. Also, young children need to be taught how to be kind, fair, respectful, and trustworthy so they will be come model citizens.
