Questions and Answers with Local Business Owner Hayley Nelson of HN Esthetics.
1. What is your name? What is the name of your business?
I'm Hayley Nelson and my business is HN Esthetics. I work with a great team at Salon J. in Wilbraham! I perform facials and waxing services.
2. What inspired you/encouraged you to start your business?
I have previously worked as an esthetician for large spas which I loved. However I had taken a few years off from the industry because I am also a full time teacher, but I really missed working in esthetics! I decided to start up HN Esthetics after seeing the salon space opening at Salon J. Now I have a beautiful space in work in and grow my business, and I’m so glad I joined the team of independent contractors at Salon J.
3. What do you love about your work?
I love helping people forget about their stress and feel good about themselves. My favorite services are my facials. Seeing my clients feel refreshed and relaxed after a long facial is the moment the job is all about. I really enjoy what I do.
4. What advice do you have for others wanting to start a business?
Plan ahead, start small and embrace making mistakes. If the right opportunity arises, go for it!
5. What do you do to take care of yourself and how do you make time to do it?
I love DIY spa treatments at home... very relaxing to spend time giving myself a manicure or skincare treatment. I try to do this at least one a week. I also have to mention hanging out with my dog is my favorite form of self care!

7. Favorite spot to go around town?
Lately I’ve been stopping by Common Grounds Cafe in Wilbraham for their great coffee with fun flavors! You can also find me perusing the thrift stores all over Western Mass.
