1. What is your name? What is the name of your business?
Amy Selvia Smith, NEPM-New England Promotional Marketing
2. What inspired you/encouraged you to start your business?
My Mom started NEPM in 1989, I worked in some capacity for NEPM for most of my life and when she was ready to slow down, I knew it was a great opportunity and a successful business that should continue.
3. What do you love about your work?
It’s fun to help people find the perfect giveaway/gift/promotion for an event. Some of the items are really cool and people get so excited. It’s also cool to see goods we did at events and around town.
4. What advice do you have for others wanting to start a business?
Since I didn’t actually start NEPM, my Mom did and so I honestly don’t have a ton of advice but from watching her I know you have to be passionate about what you are doing and be ready to work hard for it. Most of all, the client is always right and excellent customer service is a must!
5. What do you do to take care of yourself and how do you make time to do it?
Spend time with my friends and family. I am lucky that I can spend time with my girls while having NEPM. We have an incredible staff, they are everything and I am so appreciative of them. They are all loyal and dedicated, we have a really special group.
6. What can we do to support you in the community?
Shop local! Instead of jumping online when in need of promotional items, contact us. We can probably meet or beat any pricing and have your back if something goes wrong. NEPM is a HUGE supporter of local organizations and appreciate when people support us back.
7. Favorite spot to go around town?
So many places! We really have a great town. Rice’s, Village Store, the library, Wilbraham Children’s Museum, Spec Pond, all the yummy restaurants and so much more. We really don’t leave Wilbraham for much of anything!
