As we go into this Friday I just wanted to reflect on the year we have had. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to take the reins from Kelly. I am trying really hard to live up to the legacy she left me, no doubt still falling pretty short. When I took over Springfield Macaroni Kid it was with the assumption that things in our life would go back to normal in the fall, that my children would be back in school and all our favorite places and activities would be open for business once again. As we all know, that didn't happen. Our children have been on remote school since March, and our very favorite places were only able to open for a short period before state mandates forced a closure again. I am not giving you a rundown on this crappy year in the hopes of making you depressed but rather to remind you that it will get better. Our family and by extension Springfield Macaroni Kid is going to head into 2021 ready for whatever it will bring us. We are hopeful we will be able to spend out time with friends and family again soon and that this terrible time will eventually be a distant memory.
Thank you for all your love and support in my first 6 months as Publisher Mom of Springfield Macaroni Kid, I cannot wait to see what and where next year brings us!
Love,
Sarah
