What's for Dinner?

Mumu's Secret BBQ Sauce

By Sarah Reilly - Publisher of Macaroni Kid Springfield June 17, 2021

I am about to share something very special with you all.  It's something I have kept closely guarded for YEARS!!!  It's my grandmother's super secret bbq receipe.  Actually I don't even know how secret it truly is, she once told me she got it out of a magazine about 50 years ago, but it was always my favorite growing up.  It is time I passed this delicious recipe on to others.

This is a sauce that I often make in double, triple or quadruple batches and then freeze for later meals.  I just pop it in the slowcooker from the freezer, add the chicken or pork and then walk away.  Nice and easy.  We most often make it with chicken with a side of egg noodles.  It is not a very thick sauce but my Mumu often liked pulled pork with it.

1 LG.    Onion, chopped

1/2 clove  Garlic, crushed

1/4 tsp. Salt

1/4 tsp. Pepper

1/2 C. Cola beverage
