List of fun activities in Springfield - and beyond!

Looking forward to summer? Here is a list of fun things to do that can fit every family and budget! For the animal enthusiasts, outdoorsy types, those who don't mind a drive and history buffs - there's something for everyone on this list!


Bounce! Western Mass (Springfield) - Daily specials for lots of family fun! Toddler jump area available. 

Downtown Springfield Farmer's Market (Springfield) - Every Friday afternoon! 

Forest Park Zoo (Springfield) - Concession stand and playgrounds at entrance to the zoo. Don't forget - $3 to get in the park!

Forest Park Farmer's Market (Springfield) - Tuesday afternoons. Enjoy a day at the park and let the kids play in the splash pad while there!

Home-City-Families playgroups (Springfield) - Hosted at locations all over the Springfield area. 

Interskate 91 South (Wilbraham) - Laser tag, roller skating, playscape & arcade. Plenty of snack and food options available for purchase.

Meraki Children's Center (Wilbraham) - They offer vacation week groups as well as daily classes. Check out their membership options.

Sensory SpOT (Wilbraham) - Open gym twice a week - my kids love it!

Springfield libraries (Springfield area) - Each library offers something different for kids from craft kits, story times and on-site play areas. Check out the Macaroni Kid event calendar for weekly events!

Springfield museums (Springfield) - Natural history, art, science and Dr. Seuss. All in one place!

Wilbraham Farmer's Market (Wilbraham) - The season starts again on June 14th. Wednesdays from 2PM-6PM.


Don't mind the drive? Here are some fun activities and places to visit within 40 minutes of Springfield.

Amelia Park Children's Museum (Westfield) - Perfect for toddlers and kids with a variety of interests.

Ashley Reservoir (Holyoke) - Trails paved enough for strollers, scooters and bikes. 

FunHub Action Park (South Hadley) - Go karts, ninja course, playscape for toddlers, plenty of trampolines!

Holyoke Children's Museum (Holyoke) - Loads of fun for toddlers up to tweens! Upstairs area for snacks or food brought from home.

Holyoke Merry-Go-Round (Holyoke) - Part of the Holyoke Heritage Park. Near to the Children's Museum!

Look Park (Florence) - Mini golf, pedal boats, steamer train, wildlife center, spray park, walking paths, ice cream shoppe and playgrounds. 

Lupa Zoo (Ludlow) - Wide variety of animals, sound garden, splash pad and more!

Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory (Westfield) - Butterfly conservatory, outdoor gardens and food court.

Mt. Tom (Holyoke) - Beautiful views, bird watching, hiking and playgrounds.

Manhan Rail Trail (Easthampton, Hadley, Northampton) - Perfect for bikes, scooters, strollers and walking!

Sonny's Place (Somers, CT) - Arcade, batting cages, go karts, laser tag, mini golf - and more! Ice cream, barbecue and other food options available.

Southwick Zoo (Mendon) - Skyfari Sky Ride, Woodland Express Train, zipline, camel and pony rides - and more!


New England Air Museum (Windsor Locks) - Aircraft, flight simulators and outdoor displays.

Connecticut Science Center (Hartford) - Wide variety of exhibits to keep toddlers up to teens entertained and engaged!

Kid City (Middletown) - A children's museum specifically for infants, toddlers and children up to age 7.

Dinosaur State Park (Rocky Hill) - Exhibits and discovery room. 2 miles of nature paths. Track casting activity available.


Hancock Shaker Village (Pittsfield) - Take a trip back in time and learn how the early settlers lived! 

MASS MoCa (North Adams) - Contemporary art, concerts, wide range of exhibits.

Norman Rockwell Museum (Stockbridge) - Art, concerts & festivals - check their calendar for fun events for the whole family!


Davis Farmland (Sterling) - So many fun activities for toddlers up to teens! Ride a pony, snuggle baby goats, collect chicken eggs. Adventureland has slides, go-karts, mountain climbing, playgrounds and more!

Discovery Museum (Acton) - Indoor and outdoor exhibits for toddlers, kids and teens of all ages. This is sure to be a blast for the whole family! Lots of STEM activities. Interactive exhibits for younger kids, too.

Ecotarium (Worcester) - A wide variety of exhibits and activities for kids and teens of all ages. Plenty of fun for the whole family.

Old Sturbridge Village (Sturbridge) - Discover how people lives in an 1830's New England village.


Mystic Aquarium - A wide variety of sea life exhibits. Don't forget to visit the Mystic harbor and downtown areas!
