Creating a Veterans Day craft activity can be a meaningful way to honor veterans while engaging participants of all ages. A great project idea is to make “Thank You for Your Service” wreaths. These wreaths can be displayed around the community or gifted to local veterans.

Here’s How to Make It:

1. Gather Supplies

You’ll need a foam or cardboard wreath base, red, white, and blue construction paper, glue, scissors, markers, and decorative elements like small flags or stars.

2. Cut and Decorate

Start by cutting stars and circles from the construction paper. On each piece, write heartfelt messages of gratitude, such as “Thank you for your service,” or “We remember your courage.” You can also add personalized messages or veterans' names for an extra-special touch.

3. Assemble the Wreath

Glue or tape the stars and circles onto the wreath base, arranging them in layers to create a full look. Attach small flags, ribbon bows, or other patriotic elements as final touches.

4. Display or Gift

Once finished, these wreaths can be hung around the community center, school, or senior facility, or given to veterans in the community. If delivering in person, take a moment to chat with the veterans about their service—this can make the gesture even more meaningful.

This activity not only honors veterans but encourages meaningful conversations and reflections on their sacrifices. It’s a simple yet impactful way to show appreciation and foster a spirit of community and respect.
